Our Community Education Counsellor provides a number of services within our school such as:
- Provide education counselling and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Participate in the development of activities, in and out school, to enhance the involvement in education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders students and their families.
- Develop and undertake support service program designed to meet the needs of the school that will encourage the educational participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Liaise with external support services to assist in the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Provide information to the school community about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and cultural perspectives.
- Provide advice and information to school administrators regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders social and cultural protocols in order to meet the needs of schools and their communities.
- Advocate for the social and cultural perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander to all members of the school community.
- Participate in activities to develop productive partnership between members of the school community.
